If you’ve seen any of the musicvideos Beck has gotten anything to do with you will have definetely noticed that they are.. fucking.. I hate to say it but.. BONKERS! This is one of those “…the fuck was that?”-musicvideos, where the viewer goes “…the fuck was that? rewind that shit, I have to see it again” and you realize that yes there was a man in the back of the toilet wearing a tinfoil mask holding a womans hand while another dude pours alcohol down the drain.

Midnite Vultures – Sexx laws #2
And in second place we also have a Beck video, but the thing is that he’s stuff is just fucking awesome. I mean these are what makes me fucking love musicvideos, because even if neither this video nor the ‘heaven can wait’ video have literal interpretations of the songs but they still manage to make perfect fucking sense, the second I saw the oven getting POUNDED by the fridge I was like “yeah you know what.. this actually makes sense listening to the song, I DO want to defy the sex laws regarding sexual intercourse with appliances”. And also I’m pretty sure both these videos are recorded with a RED camera or with DSLR´s which is fucking awesome since you get great colors and depth, i like!

Cinnamon Chasers – Luv Deluxe #3
This is a great video but in a completely different sense then the 2 above, it’s.. I don’t even know what to say about it. I mean the way have made it looking like you are watching through the guys eyes is not something new, but it still feels original and fresh. I just see this is a short movie rather than a musicvideo, in the very short amount of time they manage to create a more than fulfilling story. I loved it!

Raekwon – House of Flying Daggers #4
The fellas from Wu-Tang have always had some weird interest in asian and more so chinese cultures and it’s not the first time we’ve seen a musicvideo where they portrait themselves as kung-fu “hustlers”. But fuck it, the shit works for them so why the hell not? This is probably by far the coolest video of the year, the guy beats a dudes entire fucking ribcage CLEAN out of his body! This video has an awesome style and is just plain balls off the fucking wall killer, and so it’s definetely in my top 10 of the year. Hands down.

Ramona Falls – I say fever #5
These guys have in my opinion released the best album of the year and also one of the top 10 best songs. I wrote a post, one of my earliest ones and one of the posts I actually enjoyed writing the most, which was about “weird stuff”. Music, art, photos, videos, songs, writing etc. that people didn’t understand and thought were too weird. I can definetely see this video being one of those weird ones that people just shake their heads at and go “what the fuck do they mean? I don’t get it.. this sucks”. This video IS fucking weird and you will be finding yourself after it’s ended thinking “the fuck was just all of that?” but that is the beauty of it.. it just fucking sucks you in and gives you the ride of your (life would be too exaggerated but) day.

Grizzly Bear – Two weeks #6
This isn’t the official video of ‘two weeks’ but it’s better than the original, this kind of falls under the same category as ‘I say fever’. You really don’t know what is going on but nevertheless you can’t take your eyes off of it so you just watch. This is also probably one of the best songs from 2009 if not the best song, haven’t quite decided yet.

Dan Deacon – Paddling Ghost #7
This is a very literal interpetation of the song itself and so it doesn’t leave a whole lot to the imagination. But that works just fine by me. By the looks of it Dan Deacon has made up a pretty awesome looking world and I really don’t mind letting him show me around.

Themselves – Roman is as Roman does #8
Anticon is a label packed with some really cool dudes who bring stuff to the table that really are as original as things can get these days. Anyway Themselves released one of the years best hiphop albums and not long after their release they put this up on vimeo which I thought was fucking bonkers! (Now I’ve said it twice.. balls…)

Land of Talk – It’s okay #9
I try and not use the word beautiful, at all, simply because whenever I hear someone using it I think “you cheezy fuck”. So I really don’t blaim you at all if that is what you think when I say this is beautiful, I really can’t come up with another word for it. Maybe if I had Chris´s lingual skills I could’ve said something else but I don’t.. so… yeah.  Just look at it! It’s fucking stunning! And also the song is definetely one of the best songs from 2008 (video was released this year however).

Röyksopp – This must be it #10
Röyksopp is in your imagination FUCKING things up, what?! Have you ever seen anything as fucking ridicilous as this before? Dude is riding a giant fucking drumset on 4 wheels, he catches projectile drumsticks with his BARE HANDS and gets everybody to fucking party, this hombre has gotten all them bush bitches hot and now they need to let  0ff some steem by playing drums in the middle of a fucking field! (Gasping for air even though I’m writing) This video is SICK, it’s just completely fucking out there and it’s almost so good that I’m starting to think it should be my favorite video of the year.. but then some chick pops out the mud starts doing a crazy rain dance which kind of turns me off.. I’m actually thinking maybe it’s Karin Dreije? Anyway, this video is insane, anytime Röyksopp and Karin Dreije get together to make a song it turns into pure gold. Watch this video people and do yourselves a giant fucking favor.

Monogrenade – Ce Soir #11

This is yet another awesome Montreal based band, I’m losing track of how many bands from Montreal it is that I listen to.. anyway. I’m a sucker for well executed stop-motion movies, and this is really fucking good, I think partly the reason why I really enjoy this piece so much is the house that they shoot it in and the way they edit the frames to enhance that eery old robust feeling of the house. It’s one of those videos where each and every frame could be a potentially GREAT picture (I do realize that each frame is a picture ofcourse.. but just because it’s a stop motion video it doesn’t mean they are all great by default).

Passion Pit – The reeling #12
This was one of the earlier videos that really caught my attention this year and I’ve seen it way too many times really. The reason why I chose to put Monogrenade at 11th place and not Passion Pit was simply because Monogrenade managed to make a stopmotion that gave me soo many great looking shots that it appealed to me a bit more. However Passion Pit still does a great fucking job using stopmotion and therefore it is without a doubt in my top 15.

Why? – These hands / January 20 someting #13
Another band from the awesome label Anticon. This is actually two songs in one musicvideo but it really works well since the songs go perfectly hand-in-hand. This is by far the “simplest” cleanest musicvideo out of the entire bunch, the entire latter part is just frames of the guys from the band playing. But still the director manages to keep my interest peeked throughout the video. In all a great video and an even better band.

Chromeo – Night by night #14
CHROMEO MOTHERFUCKERS WHAT!? Honestly these guys are two of the coolest cats out there, they just fucking radiate cool. I can’t help but to get jealous of them both. So yeah this video meets every single requirement it has to in order to be in my top 15 and THEN SOME! Like some of the other videos (most of the other videos really…) I can’t tell if they are using a RED camera or a digital SLR but either way it looks absolutely and utterly.. I’m trying to come up with another word for hell’a balls off the fucking  wall bonkers, but I can’t so I’ll just run with that.

Pacovolume – CookieMachine #15
This video is probably the best looking one out of the bunch I have picked out, they have done an even better job than with the Monogrenade video at creating a video with almost nothing but really great looking frames that could easily make for awesome pictures. But all the above have similarly great looking esthetics but also bring something else to the table, which this doesn’t.. really. It’s great to look at but I didn’t find it as entertaining as the rest, which is important I think in a musicvideo. But this goes in my top 15 without a whole lot of thinking about it.

1. Call and buy his merchandise

2. Use it, preferably on your couch while watching TV because we all know that’s how lazy you are.

3. Store it in a completely random and small place just because it is foldable enough to fit in there.

My favorite piece of work-out junk is the abtronic, you’ve undoubtedly seen this on TV, you simply slap it on your tummie turn the switch on to your preferable
settings and let it put currents of electricity through your abs to stimulate them and that right there is your workout.
Then after showing how this thing works the camera will zoom out and you will see this incredibly annoyingly happy looking douche with a toned body telling you
that you can look just like him if you buy this. Now on the other hand, you can flip this entire scenario around and turn it into something less obnoxiously obnoxious and more obnoxiously funny. The thing they are trying to sell you is so fucking ludicrous, I mean just the fact that they are trying to sell this is hilarious and then add to that the fact that they actually sell it! HAH
I specially love it when they are telling fat people that “look even this toned out piece of hunk can’t do 500 situps but YOU with THIS shit right HERE you can easily do that amount of reps in less than 15min AND on your fucking COUCH!”.

And let’s not forget that hadn’t it been for TV shop we wouldn’t have had the fortune of seeing this clip wich is fucking balls off the wall! LOOK AT THAT HORSE MOTHERFUCKERS!

Musicwize I haven’t been listening to that much new stuff that I feel like you guys REALLY should listen to, since we are on the subject of Japoonland I figured I might introduce you to some of the better artists. Japanese mainstream music is probably the worse thing I’ve ever listened to, just walk in to any foodjoint or smaller store in Japan or just turn on the nearest radio and I swear you will be bleeding from your ears because the little smurfs that are in your head making your body work will be literally stabbing your brain while being exposed to this bullcrap called music (yes there are smurfs in your brain making your body work…).
But there is great music aswell, one of my favorite artists is the jazz-fusion hiphop DJ, Nujabes.
Not just because he lays down beats that are borderline cheezy jazz’ish like but because he does it well, and also because he works on and off with my favorite hiphop label QN5, which is off the wall balls through the roof awesome.

Here is Lady Brown with Cise Starr, a relatively unknown guy who has a great flow that goes well with the smooth beats that nujabes brings.

I’d also like you to listen to a band called Ice Cream Shout where one of my close friends and former roomie plays in. You can check them out on their myspace page and also their blog (they tend to write in Japanese but there are also some posts in English).
One of the founding members of the band is a Japense girl named Mika who got interviewed by Swedish radio, P3 pop. She discusses her background and talks a little bit about the time she spend studying in Sweden. They also talk about Ice Cream Shout’s cover of the Swedish band Name the Pet’s song London which is available on Name the Pet’s debut album as a sidetrack. Anyway Chris if you are reading this I hope you guys will be playing in Sweden sometime soon and if not I will make sure to see you play in Japan! And I can’t stress it enough, if you guys ever need a cameraman I’m your go-to-guy!

Done some photography this weekend but I left my camera at my friends place and I haven’t picked up yet so I got some more pictures on that I should upload but for now I can only show you the stuff I took from the car on our way back from Norway. Overall I was quite happy with the result from the pictures, I managed to get some nice ones. I haven’t done a whole lot of fine art photography so this is definetely an uncharted area for me, but having tried it out I kind of liked it. Those of you who haven’t heard the extraordinary voice of Antony Hegarty should slap yourselves across the face and stick a fucking fork in your knee and then twirl it around and pour gallons of fucking vodka in it and then rub the shit down with salt, then slap yourselves across the face again.
He is the lead singer in a group called Antony and the Johnsons, and is not only famous for his peculiar voice but also because he is a weirdo, in womens’ clothes. But fuck it, who cares what the guy wears, he makes great music and that’s all I care about. His latest project was a collaboration with the NY based DJ Hercules and Love Affair where he sang a few songs on their latest self-titled album which can be found on spotify, along with his work from Antony and the Johnsons.

The dude working next to me while I was on the pig-line was a 6 foot tall piece of douche, the guy is polish (I think) and didn’t exactly have what you would call an extensive vocabulary, apparently at some point I moved slightly too close to this man, now I’m not sure if this guy might have some intimacy issues, maybe he is struggling with his sexuality, I might’ve smelled like dogcrap but then again the whole fucking place smells like a pigsty so I’m pretty sure dogcrap would just smell like fucking roses in comparison. Anyway, the guy felt that I was just too close and fucking yells MOVE! and it wasn’t  like he had to say it out loud because I wouldn’t hear otherwise, he fucking got in my face and almost spat it out, like what the fuck? I didn’t want any trouble so I moved, then the fucker tells me I’m doing the carving all wrong and takes the knife out of my fucking hand and “shows” me how I’m supposed to do it, but he doesn’t do it in a nice “ow let me show you”-kind of way but more in a “BOOYAH! in yo’ face ma’fucker, that’s how we gets shit done ya heear!”-way and slaps the knife back in my hand and goes on to brush the chip of his shoulder.

Ow right, another thing. I posted a link to this days post  on facebook but it’s the last time I’ll do that. For one reason, I fucking hate it when people post links to their blogs more than once or twice on facebook, which makes me a bit of a contradictory sack of potato, but this is the last time. So if you like reading my blog just add it as a bookmark. I get the feeling that most of you who read my blog already have anyway. Whenever I see someone linking their blog on facebook that I’ve already seen linked a couple of times I can’t help but to think that if people really are interested in your blog they will put it as a bookmark and look it up every now and then so stop fucking linking it.

Now to music, I think I mentioned them on facebook the other day, not sure but you should definetely check out the new album from The Swell Season, Strict Joy.
After having seen the movie Once I’ve tried to listen to more or less anything that Glen Hansard has made or helped make, because he is that fucking good. His voice is just fucking beast and he makes great music, weither it be with his band The Frames or when he is making music with his bird Markéta Irglóva who also starred in the critically acclaimed  movie Once. What is really cool about the movie once is that it is written and directed by The Frames former bassist John Carney.

This next band is a copenhagen based band consisting of 3 girls, I stumbled upon this band yesterday and found them on spotify. They are really good and definetely worth a listen, so check them out!

This weekend we had a little halloween party at a friends house and I finally after weeks and weeks of not touching my camera got the chance to take some shots, not a whole lot of them came out great because I was drunk most of the time but I did manage to get a shot that I really liked.

But atleast I got some time to ponder upon life and it’s many wonders, for instance hiphop. I listen to a new album today with the alternative hiphop group Themselves who recently released a track with Why? that is fucking great, actually starting to think that it might be my favorite track of the year. But anyway, as I was listening to Crownsdown which is the name of their album I started thinking about all the times I’ve heard someone say “I hate hiphop, it’s shit, all they do is call eachother nigger and talk about their bitches and hoes” and I got a bit frustrated, I mean hiphop has always had alternatives that don’t mention the word nigger, hoe, bitch or were they talk about their rims or whatnot every other word. Hiphop that just doesn’t make your ears bleed. I mean most of these people who say that they “hate” hiphop (hate is by the way a really fucking strong word to use when you are talking about a genre of music) have heard what is aired on the radio or what is seen on the tv. But there is fucking millions of different genres within hiphop, you have your G-funk, jazz fusion, gangster rap, political rap, alternative rap, instrumental hiphop you have your lyrical rappers, your smooth rappers, your toasters you have rappers from the bay, east, south and west, if you mix this around you get a fucking fruitsallad of hiphop and there is no way in hell that you can “hate” all of it. Hiphop may not be your favorite genre or what you prefer to listen to the most or not even often but you can’t dismiss all hiphop, it’ll be your loss.

But it wasn’t all bad I have to admit, the first hour of the day I did get a chance to listen to Flight of The Conchords new album which is fucking hilarious, if you’ve seen the second season of the show it will be a helluva lot more funny to listen to. So watch the second season, ti’s for your own good yes. It’s educational aswell, I mean just look at this.

Here they are teaching us how to spread the dicks on the dancefloor and also how to properly wear those “discoballs” on your pants.

In this clip they teach us that even rappers are human beings with feelings and that they to can get hurt. Also it teaches us that groups of young black people always roll with 1 or 2 white dudes for protection against the “5-0″.

I mean this guy had the kind of cross-eyes that could actually get him famous, you know get his own TV-show, “Guess What I’m ACTUALLY Looking At!”. Another thing that I noticed about him was that he almost came across as if he was trying to show you that he is not in any way cross-eyed, you know like when you see someone falling flat on their ass in a crowded area and then quickly gets up and walks away as if nothing had happened. What would happen if the guy honestly didn’t think he was cross-eyed? Well maybe something like this.  He’s at a bar, he’s there with some of his friends just chillaxin at the bar when he spots some hot broad and decides to walk over there and ask for her digits. He walks up to her with his chest puffed up and his head held up high,  confident like a prancing cock (rooster that is) and goes “Hey, I couldn’t help but to notice you from across the room, how about we share digits for now and then maybe someday I can take you to “pleasure-ville” to which she will most definetely reply “How about I say no for a while? And then later on I add that I don’t date cross-eyed guys” and walks away. Cross-eyes retreats to his friends with a sense of confusion, kind of frowning his eyebrows and goes “Did you guys just hear that? She said that she doesn’t date cross-eyed guys, ..the fuck she meant by that?” his friends going “What?! Dude I have no idea what she is talking about, in no way do you look totally cross-eyed” “Yeah man it totally does not look like one of your eyes is staring straight into the wall while the other is looking over my shoulder” “Yeah you do not look really confused and lost like all the time and I always know exactly what you are looking at”.
Aaaah how I wished that actually happened in his life and that I could be there and witness it.

Today we are going to talk about 2 bands who both share a magical bond with rabbits, or atleast so I would think.

First off we have Frightened Rabbit who in my opinion recorded one of 2008′s best albums, The Midnight Organ Fight

At first it was just the singer Scott Hutchinson who used Frightened Rabbit as a name for his solo stuff that he performed but later on his brother joined in and then later on 3 others joined and they became what they are today, an awesome scottish indie-rock/folk band! Their record label is none other than Fat Cat Records(!) which is also the label under which Nina Nastasia, Sígur Ros and Múm.. also Animal Collective and No Age but I haven’t really gotten around to listening to them that much.

Scott’s awesome scottish accent fits the lyrics perfectly and make for a sweet-ass combo.

Next up is a NY based band White Rabbits

Their album Fort Nightly is on the spottizle, for their latest album you will have to find it on your own however, I’m sure you can find it somewhere.

Having gotten pretty pissed on caucasians friday night I had more or less decided to just take it easy saturday and watch the denmark-sweden game but I ended up getting pretty drunk that night aswell, then again I deserved a weekend of drinking. Later at night David’s bird showed up with a hot friend of hers and we decided to hit the club, however somehow we managed to not leave the house till an hour before the place actually closed so halfway there we decided to just go home. But I probably did myself a major favor not going out that night, I would probably just have waisted tons of money on crappy drinks, acted retarted and pissed of some tiny terror.

I could tell that something was wrong with the village, it was dark and eerie. After a while I got hold of a little Smurf that sat down and explained it all to me.
As you all know the little Smurfs have been under constant threat by the evil wizard Gargamel but a couple of years ago he died of HIV, apparently he had shared a crack needle with a renown homosexual prostitute. For a while there was a huge festivity in the Smurf Village but it was short lived, not long after Gargamels death, crack started spreading in the quiet village and after that shit went wrong, just plain wrong.

Remember Smurfette?… village whore. Her pimp was none other than Papa Smurf but he threw that name away long ago, now he is just known as Sugar Daddy Blue. Shit is crazy…
But I can’t say that I’m surprised I mean Smurfette dressed like a slut long before she turned in to one so that was just a matter of time right? And Papa Smurf always had a pimp’ish feeling about him.. could never really tell what kind of creepy smirk he had under that thick-ass beard of his either, so yeah he was shady from the start I’d say. Vanity Smurf didn’t change all that much however, always was and will always be the village transvestite prostitute, the only thing that changed was that he now goes by the name Precious and the only guy who actually buys his services is Poet Smurf. Worst of the worse however is Grandpa Smurf, ever wondered why the guy walks around with a cane? Age? No, thats just a front. Actually he has to use a cane because he got his ass handed to him by Brainy Smurf for having felt up his baby sister who was only 7 at the time. But now that everyone in the Smurf Village have turned into a crackie there is really no law and order and so there is no one to stop Grandpa Smurf from abusing the little ones of the village.. it’s tragic really.
But then again I’m just making this shit up, right?

This was more or less what was going on in my mind today at work, can’t really say how I got in to it but at some point I started thinking, what  ever happened to the smurfs? And I figured just writing about my everyday life is definetely not interesting enough for people to actually enjoy reading about it, and if you do enjoy reading about it then something is terribly terribly wrong with you and you need help, lots of it. So that is why I’ll just write about things that I find fun to write about and that I think people would find fun to read. Like crack addicts smurfs, sexually abused donkeys, yetis, diabolical druids and David Schwimmer.

Anyway, I’m not gonna write much more but I just want to say that if you havent listened to Lou Barlow’s work then you really should. Make sure you listen to Dinosaur Jr. and Sebadoh.
